Scientists from the University of Auckland stated that a healthy sex life is not always a guarantee of longevity. Experts also revealed some unexpected facts about sex, supported by scientific work.
Day of the week
British scientists discovered which day of the week can be considered the most favorable for intimacy. According to the received data, Monday is a tough day for many, and by the middle of the week, a person is maxed out with work, so they need healthy sleep. The approach of the weekend contributes to a pleasant rest for the couple, so on Thursday, sex will be the most beneficial and vibrant.
Socks
Dutch scientists found that women who do not take off their socks during sex reach orgasm more quickly. In a result of an experiment involving volunteers, it was established that women, when wearing socks, experienced multiple orgasms 80% of the time, while participants without socks did not always reach climax even once.
Frequency
Canadian scientists proved that the frequency of sex affects relationships, but this does not mean that for well-being in a couple it is necessary to make love more often. On the contrary, too frequent sexual experiences at the beginning of a relationship increases the risk that partners will become satiated with each other. Therefore, the optimal frequency of intimacy is once a week, and if this threshold is exceeded, the likelihood that over time satisfaction with each other in the couple will diminish increases.
Incest
Scientist Klaus Wedekind conducted an unconventional test using sweaty T-shirts. Nearly 50 women and 44 men participated in the experiment, half of whom were carriers of similar genes. The women were to study the sweaty clothing of the men and then mark those options that, in their opinion, had a good smell. As a result, it turned out that the women chose the T-shirts whose owners did not have related genes. Thus, the human brain is programmed at the genetic level to filter out partners with whom there are kinship ties.
Abstinence
A psychotherapist from the USA concluded that the absence of intimacy in women makes them more lethargic, and it also negatively impacts health. Over time, the absence of sex becomes a habit, which is why women get used to melancholy. The fact is that through sex, one can regulate mood and improve relationships with a partner.
Brain
Scientists from the University of Groningen were able to conclude that sexual arousal, due to blood flow, helps stimulate brain activity. This effect is particularly evident among men, while women normalize the functioning of the central nervous system through intimacy.
Weight Loss
Canadian scientist Antonis Karelis calculated the number of calories a person can burn on average during orgasm. For the experiment, 21 couples aged 18 to 35 were involved, who had intimacy once a week for a month. During sex, at least one of the partners must experience orgasm. It turned out that in the study, men burned an average of 101 kcal, while women burned 69.
