Scientists have determined at what age women experience the best orgasms.

It is considered that the ideal age for quality hot sex is early youth. At least, that is how things appear if you observe the romantic escapades of movie and TV characters. But research proves the opposite.

The publication Health reported that the best orgasms come to women rather later than earlier. With the help of the popular app Natural Cycles, which allows tracking menstrual cycle and planning pregnancy, researchers surveyed 2,600 women. Respondents of different ages were asked:

  1. How satisfied are you with your sex life?
  2. How attractive do you think you are?
  3. How do you assess the frequency and quality of your orgasms?

There were only three ratings: low, medium, high.

Then women were divided into three groups depending on age: 23 years and younger, 24–36 years, older than 36 years. Their responses were analyzed.

It was supposed that the youngest would give the highest rating to their sex life. However, researchers were in for a surprise. Girls under 23 most often chose ratings of "low" and "medium." For women aged 24–36, the situation changed slightly: the "medium" rating was more common. In contrast, ladies aged 36 and older confidently assessed the quality of their sex life and their own attractiveness as high.

In general, the best orgasms await women after the age of 36.

Interestingly, this is not the only study with similarly, at first glance, paradoxical conclusions. For instance, the publication The Huffington Post, citing the results of a recent survey of 5,000 single adult Americans of all ages, ethnic groups, and income levels, produced averaged indicators. According to them, the best sex in women’s lives happens at age 66, while for men it is at 64.

Psychologists surveyed by Health and The Huffington Post suggest that the reason lies in the following. The strength and quality of orgasm depend not so much on physiology and hormones as on psychological readiness. In the decade between the ages of 20 and 30, despite having the most "sexual" hormonal levels, young people are too preoccupied with their appearance and issues of social acceptance, and therefore cannot relax and give in to feelings.

As years go by, women and men find their place in society, receive numerous social and psychological reinforcements, and gain sexual experience that helps them feel better and recognize their own desires.

Several more factors that make sex better with age:

  1. Healthy selfishness. People start having sex for their own pleasure rather than to satisfy their partner.
  2. A shift away from fixation on penetration. It turns out that orgasms can also be achieved simply by caressing each other.
  3. Trust. Older generations are generally in long-term relationships. People have known their partners for a long time, making it easier to venture into experiments and overall feel more relaxed.

However, researchers note that age alone does not guarantee quality orgasms. Much more important here is experience and confidence in one's own sexual attractiveness, as well as having a loving partner.
