Survey: how did you learn about sex?

The way a person learns about sex can greatly affect their entire life. The cases vary widely: some were given all the details by high school seniors, some found a forbidden videotape in their parents' closet, and some received their share of knowledge from the school psychologist.

My parents approached the question very delicately. In the summer, we would travel periodically, and on the train they always gave me some book: it was either "The Two Captains" or some novel about knights. On one trip, it was two books about sex — specifically for kids, with fairly modest but understandable illustrations and explanations. In fact, there was only one page about sex, while all the other parts were dedicated to possible consequences: pregnancy or, say, sexually transmitted diseases. It seems to me that this form is much better than a conversation where everyone is embarrassed, but it still doesn't replace a full-fledged sex education that could be taught, say, in schools.
