The top three most popular adult products include erotic clothing (70%), vibrators (40%), and dildos (31%). Much less interest is shown in sex dolls and robots (8%). This data is based on the results of a survey of buyers from Moscow and million-plus cities conducted by the marketplace "Beru".
The survey results also indicate that men more often purchased masturbators, while women bought vaginal balls and vibrators. In other words, respondents usually purchased something for themselves, not for their partner.
Other interesting data from the study:
- men and women under 35 prefer BDSM accessories, erotic clothing, and lingerie;
- most respondents choose (68%) and buy (58%) sex toys in online stores, as this way they do not feel embarrassed;
- 65% of those surveyed shop at sex shops regularly, 10% of them do so at least once a month;
- most respondents (81%) admitted that they would like to buy some sex toy (most often anal accessories);
- the first purchase occurs for various reasons, including to acquire sexual skills;
- when choosing a product, respondents most often pay attention to the material (78%), appearance (73%), and price (73%);
- during masturbation with sex toys, 42% of respondents reported experiencing orgasm;
- the vast majority of respondents (95%) would like to receive a sex toy as a gift;
- based on Wordstat data, user interest in this category of products has increased by 14% over the year, and in the regions — by 16%.
