What is irrumation
Irrumation is a type of oral sex. But it is not a classic blowjob, tender and "for love," but rather a quite rough act, in which one of the partners dominates, and the other unconditionally submits.
During irrumation, the man makes active thrusting movements with his member into the oral cavity and throat of his partner. From the outside, it looks like oral rape. However, it does not just look that way; this practice originated from violence.
The term "irrumation" came from Latin. The verb irrumare had Irrumare the following meaning: to insert the member into someone's mouth insultingly and with force. Such penetration was used in various but always humiliating situations for the passive partner. Irrumation was done with prostitutes because of the low social status of such women. High-ranking officials literally shut the mouths of unwanted speakers who were lower than them on the social ladder. "Oral rape" was also a measure of punishment for homosexuality.
At what stage irrumation turned from violence into a sexual game, albeit a rough one, is hard to say. Nevertheless, today this type of oral sex is one of the popular techniques in BDSM.
What types of irrumation are there
Irrumation exists in two variants — classic and softened.
Irrumation with penetration
The classic genre. The woman is completely submissive, while the man pushes his member into her mouth and throat with the force and speed he desires. This type of oral sex can be dangerous. Excessively deep penetration often causes a gag reflex and breathing difficulties.
Irrumation without penetration
Here everything is simple. The man moves his member just as assertively and actively as in the classic variant. Only he does it not in the partner's mouth, but, for example, between her closed thighs. Or between the tightly pressed bodies of two partners immediately — in a threesome sex variant. This is completely safe, just ensure to take care of lubrication.
How to practice irrumation so that both partners enjoy
The first and key rule: the woman must voluntarily and unequivocally say "yes" to this sex game. Like any BDSM practices, irrumation is based on strict adherence to the participants' SSC principle (from English: safe, sane, consensual) — safety, voluntary consent, reasonableness. - Safety. This implies the awareness of both partners: both the dominant (top) and submissive (bottom) must clearly understand what the process entails. The dominant must have a basic understanding of anatomy and psychology and must not wish to harm the submissive.
- Voluntary consent. All actions take place only at the desire of both sides. They must be stopped at any moment once a stop word is spoken or another pre-agreed signal is given.
- Reasonableness. It is extremely advisable for partners to discuss the game in advance and for the submissive to state their taboos — those actions that must not be performed under any circumstances. Everything discussed must be strictly observed for a simple reason: the submissive party, like the dominant, also seeks pleasure in BDSM, not to endure everything the top wishes to do.
If these principles are followed, irrumation can be tried. But with caution. As mentioned above, "oral rape" can induce gagging and difficulty breathing in the receiving party. Here are a few ways to reduce risks:
- Stopper. The submissive wraps their hand around the base of the member. This grip allows controlling the depth of penetration of the penis into the mouth and throat.
- Breaks. The dominant should monitor how the submissive feels during thrusting and take breaks so the submissive can catch their breath.
